The ACCUPRO 4500168 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding applications. Ground to a 27/64-inch (0.4219 inch) diameter with a 140-degree split point, this drill is built to penetrate hard and abrasive workpiece materials where standard high-speed steel bits fall short. A TiAlN coating reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge and extends tool life in high-cycle production environments. The straight cylindrical shank and regular spiral flute geometry make it compatible with standard drill chucks and CNC tool holders. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management during deep-hole operations. This bit is sized for trade machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and production drilling technicians.
This jobber drill is engineered for stainless steel as its primary workpiece material, where edge retention and heat resistance are critical. The 5xD flute-by-diameter ratio supports deep drilling passes without excessive chip packing. The R-thinned web reduces thrust force at entry, making it well suited for work on austenitic and martensitic stainless grades. It is also applicable to other hard ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a TiAlN-coated carbide tool is the appropriate selection. At 5.875 inches overall length with a 3.469-inch flute length, it fits standard jobber-length chuck clearances on both benchtop and CNC machining centers.

Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the straight shank fully in a collet or chuck to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth before operation. Carbide is brittle relative to high-speed steel - avoid lateral loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed rate adjustment, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Always engage coolant-through supply when the machine tool supports it, and verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and bit diameter before starting the cut.
