The ACCUPRO 4500164 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit with a 31/64 inch (0.4844 inch decimal) diameter and a 140-degree split point geometry. Coated with TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride), this drill is engineered for high-performance cutting in demanding materials, particularly stainless steel and other hard alloys. The right-hand spiral flute design with R-thinned web promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces entry thrust. Coolant-through capability makes it well suited for use in CNC machining centers and automated production environments. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and production floor operators are the primary installers and users of this bit.
This drill bit is designed for applications involving stainless steel and similarly difficult ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 3-15/16 inch flute length support drilling at moderate depths without excessive tool deflection. It is most commonly run in CNC machining centers or rigid drill press setups where coolant delivery can be maintained through the spindle. The straight cylindrical shank at 1/2 inch diameter accepts standard drill chucks and collet systems commonly found in industrial machine tool setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide jobber drill for industrial CNC machining centers, drill presses, and rigid setup applications requiring a 1/2 inch straight shank and 31/64 inch cutting diameter.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with cutting tool setups. Ensure the spindle and chuck are fully powered down and locked out before loading or removing the bit. Confirm shank seating depth and chuck torque per the machine manufacturer specifications before engaging the spindle. Use appropriate coolant flow rates when utilizing the coolant-through feature to prevent thermal damage to both the tool and workpiece.
