The ACCUPRO 4500157 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 3.50 mm diameter cutting edge is ground to a 140-degree split point angle with R-thinned web geometry, reducing thrust and improving center-starting accuracy. A TiAlN coating increases surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in demanding production environments. With a 6 mm straight cylindrical shank and 66 mm overall length, this drill is compatible with standard collet chucks and drill chucks used on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills. Two regular spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently throughout the 28 mm flute length.
This jobber drill is suited for production drilling in machine shops, tool rooms, and manufacturing environments where consistent hole quality and extended tool life are priorities. The DIN specification designation confirms dimensional conformance to recognized international standards. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper hole applications within the jobber-length range. Coolant-through capability allows internal coolant delivery, making this drill appropriate for automated CNC operations where flood coolant or high-pressure through-spindle coolant is available. It is typically installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in general machining, aerospace, automotive, or industrial fabrication settings.
Designed for use with standard 6 mm straight-shank collet chucks and drill chucks on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and milling machines. Fits drill bit size range of 3.00 mm to 4.00 mm toolholder selections per the supplier specification.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped to the correct torque specification for the toolholder in use, referencing the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Inspect the cutting edge and coating condition before each use; carbide drills are brittle and should not be subjected to side loads or interrupted cuts beyond their rated application. When using coolant-through capability, confirm that spindle coolant pressure and flow rate are within the range recommended for this drill diameter.
