The ACCUPRO 4500150 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It measures 4.20 mm in diameter with a 140-degree split point and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life at higher cutting speeds. The overall length is 2.91 inches with a flute length of 1.42 inches. The straight cylindrical shank measures 6 mm and seats directly into standard drill chucks or collets. This drill is built for professional machinists, tool-and-die shops, and CNC operators who need consistent, repeatable hole quality in production environments.
This drill is rated for primary use in stainless steel, where tool deflection, heat buildup, and edge wear are common failure points for lesser tooling. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry support consistent chip evacuation in both manual and CNC drilling operations. Coolant-through capability allows internal coolant delivery for extended run times and improved hole finish in deep or interrupted cuts. The R-thinned web reduces entry thrust, which is especially useful when drilling work-hardened or austenitic stainless grades.
Designed as a high-performance replacement jobber drill for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines equipped with standard straight-shank toolholders or collet chucks accepting a 6 mm shank. Primary workpiece material rating is stainless steel; the TiAlN coating also supports use in other ferrous and heat-resistant alloys.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with cutting tool setup and speeds-and-feeds selection. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck before operation and verify runout does not exceed acceptable tolerances for the application. Always follow machine guarding protocols and wear appropriate eye protection. Consult the machine and toolholder manufacturer specifications for recommended RPM and feed rates for carbide tooling in stainless steel.
