The ACCUPRO 4500142 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built from solid carbide with a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating, this bit handles heat and abrasion at elevated cutting speeds. It measures 5.00 mm in diameter (0.1969 inches) with a 140-degree split point angle and an overall length of 82.00 mm (3.2283 inches). The 2-flute right-hand spiral configuration promotes efficient chip evacuation. Coolant-through construction supports continuous cutting in deep-hole applications. This bit is sized for machinists, tool-and-die workers, and fabricators running CNC or manual drilling operations.
The 4500142 is built for drilling stainless steel and other hard or work-hardening alloys where standard HSS bits fail prematurely. The 140-degree point reduces thrust force and improves centering on curved or hardened surfaces. With a flute length of 44.00 mm (1.7323 inches) and a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, it suits through-hole and moderate-depth applications in production and job-shop environments. The straight cylindrical shank with a 6 mm diameter fits standard drill chucks and collet systems. R-thinned web geometry reduces the chisel edge for cleaner entry. DIN specification ensures dimensional conformance for interchangeability.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit solid carbide jobber drill for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines equipped with standard chucks or collet systems accepting a 6 mm straight shank. Primary workpiece material is stainless steel; also suited for other hard ferrous alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with cutting tool selection and machine setup. Ensure the spindle and chuck are clean and free of runout before seating the shank. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck to the recommended engagement depth before applying cutting load. When using coolant-through capability, verify coolant supply lines are connected and flow is confirmed before starting the cut to prevent thermal shock to the carbide.
