The ACCUPRO 4500054 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in hardened and difficult-to-machine materials. It features a 140-degree split point with proprietary UR-thinning at the web, which reduces thrust and improves center-starting without a pilot hole. The TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when drilling at elevated cutting speeds. At 4.134 inches overall length with a 2.244-inch flute, this is a general-purpose jobber geometry suited for production environments. Machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators working in job shops or manufacturing facilities are the primary users.
This drill bit is engineered for hardened materials, including tool steels and other high-hardness workpieces where high-speed steel tooling loses edge integrity. The slow-spiral flute design controls chip evacuation in tough materials without generating excessive heat in the cutting zone. With a straight cylindrical shank at 10 mm diameter, it seats in standard drill chucks and collet holders on machining centers, drill presses, and CNC lathes. The DIN specification designation confirms it meets recognized European and international dimensional standards for interchangeable tooling.

Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with cutting tool setup and speeds-and-feeds selection for carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the drill from the toolholder. Carbide is brittle — avoid lateral loading, interrupted cuts without proper setup, and contact with hardened surfaces outside the intended cutting application. Confirm runout at the shank is within tolerance before starting a production run, as excessive runout accelerates edge chipping on solid carbide tools.
