The ACCUPRO 4500044 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in hardened and difficult-to-machine materials. It features a 140-degree split point geometry with UR web thinning to reduce thrust and improve centering on entry. The TiAlN coating provides heat resistance and extends tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. At 11.50 mm in diameter with a 119.00 mm overall length and a 71.00 mm flute length, this drill is built for demanding production and maintenance applications where standard high-speed steel tooling falls short. Licensed machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators are the primary users.
This drill is suited for use in hardened materials including hardened steels and similar ferrous workpieces where elevated cutting temperatures are common. The slow spiral flute design helps manage chip evacuation in tough, low-chip-clearance conditions. The straight cylindrical shank at 12 mm diameter fits standard drill chucks and collet systems without modification. Typical applications include production drilling on CNC machining centers, manual drill presses, and toolroom mills where consistent hole quality is required across hardened stock.
Designed as a jobber-length drill for use in hardened materials within the 10.00 mm to 12.50 mm diameter range category. Fits standard drill chucks and ER-style collet systems accepting a 12 mm straight shank.
Installation and use of solid carbide drills should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Ensure the spindle and toolholding system are free of runout before seating the shank, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading from misaligned setups. Secure the workpiece firmly and verify spindle speed and feed rates are appropriate for the workpiece material and machine before engaging the cut. Do not use this drill without coolant or air blast on setups where heat buildup cannot be otherwise managed.
