The ACCUPRO 4500040 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for machining hardened materials where standard high-speed steel tooling fails. Built to DIN specification, it features a 140-degree split point with UR-thinning to reduce thrust and improve entry on tough workpieces. The TiAlN coating adds thermal resistance and hardness, extending tool life in abrasive and heat-generating cuts. At 19/64 inch (0.2969 inch) diameter with a 3-3/8 inch overall length, this bit is sized for general jobber-length drilling applications. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users. It is sold individually.
This drill bit is intended for use on hardened materials including hardened steels and similar abrasive workpieces. The slow spiral flute geometry is selected specifically for these applications, managing chip evacuation in materials that generate fine, packed chips. The straight 3/8 inch shank fits standard drill chucks and collet systems on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills. It is not designed for coolant-through applications.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines equipped with standard drill chucks or collet systems accepting a 3/8 inch straight shank. Suited for drilling hardened materials within the 0.2500 to 0.3000 inch diameter range.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the chuck or collet is torqued to the machine manufacturer's specification before operation. This bit is not rated for coolant-through use; apply cutting fluid externally as appropriate for the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edge and TiAlN coating for wear or chipping before each use, as carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used if chipped.
