The ACCUPRO 4500030 is a No. 19 wire gauge jobber-length drill bit ground from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) for extended tool life in abrasive and hardened workpiece materials. The bit measures 0.166 inches (decimal) in diameter and 2.5 inches overall. A 140-degree split point with UR web thinning reduces entry thrust and keeps the bit on location without a center punch. The slow spiral flute geometry is optimized for chip evacuation in hard, dense materials where standard flute designs would chatter or work-harden the bore. This is a specialized-grade bit suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or precision repair environments.
The 4500030 is sized to the No. 19 wire gauge standard (0.1660 inches) and is appropriate for drilling hardened steels, tool steels, and similarly difficult alloys where high-speed steel or cobalt bits fall short. The 1-inch flute length and 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it well matched to shallow and moderate-depth holes in hard plate, die stock, and heat-treated components. A straight cylindrical shank at 3/16 inch (0.1875 inches) seats in standard drill chucks or collet holders without modification.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production tooling option for applications requiring a No. 19 wire gauge drill bit in solid carbide with a straight shank; suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held drill motors equipped with a collet or chuck accepting a 3/16-inch straight shank.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the straight shank fully in the collet or chuck before operation and verify runout with a dial indicator when precision bore location is critical. Carbide is brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts at high feed rates, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; apply cutting fluid externally or run dry per the workpiece material requirements.
