The ACCUPRO 4500026 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for drilling into hardened materials where standard high-speed steel tooling falls short. Ground to a 140-degree split point with a TiAlN coating, this bit handles the elevated heat and cutting forces generated in hardened steel and similar difficult workpiece materials. The slow spiral flute geometry controls chip evacuation at lower helix angles, keeping the cutting edge stable in tough, abrasive conditions. At 4.1339 inches overall length with a 2.2441-inch flute, it fits standard drill chucks and machining center tool holders without modification. This is a two-flute, right-hand cutting bit intended for professional machining applications.
The 4500026 is suited for shop floor and production environments where operators are drilling hardened ferrous materials, tool steels, and similarly demanding workpieces. The UR-thinned web reduces thrust requirements at the point, which is useful in CNC machining centers and precision drill press setups. The straight cylindrical shank with a 10 mm shank diameter seats securely in standard collets and chucks. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary users. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is required for best tool life.
Designed as a standard jobber-length drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held drilling equipment accepting a 10 mm straight cylindrical shank; rated for hardened materials per the manufacturer specification.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Solid carbide bits are brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper setup, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Secure the shank fully within the collet or chuck to the recommended gripping depth before operation. Because this bit has no coolant-through capability, apply external cutting fluid or coolant directed at the cutting zone to manage heat and extend tool life.
