The ACCUPRO 4500025 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in hardened materials. Built with a 140-degree split point and TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating, it handles the elevated temperatures and abrasive conditions common when drilling hardened steels, tool steels, and similar difficult workpiece materials. The UR-thinned web reduces entry force and improves centering without the need for a center punch in most setups. At 8.00 mm (0.3150 inch) diameter with a 98.00 mm overall length, this bit fits standard CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines equipped with a compatible straight-shank chuck or collet.
The 4500025 is suited for production and maintenance machining environments where hardened material drilling is routine. The slow-spiral flute geometry promotes chip control and reduces heat buildup in tough, low-machinability materials. Its 50.00 mm flute length provides adequate depth capacity for most jobber-length applications. Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in a compatible collet or drill chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle completely before inserting or removing the bit. Avoid side loading or using carbide drills as reamers, as this can cause chipping or catastrophic bit failure.
