The ACCUPRO 4500002 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for drilling hardened materials where standard high-speed steel tooling fails. Wire size 5, equal to 0.2055 inches in diameter, the bit features a 140-degree proprietary point angle that reduces thrust and improves entry accuracy on tough substrates. A TiAlN coating adds heat resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. The slow spiral flute geometry controls chip evacuation at the moderate feed rates required when machining hardened workpieces. This bit is installed and operated by machinists, toolmakers, and trade professionals working with precision drilling applications on ferrous and hardened alloy materials.
This drill bit is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools where a straight-shank bit with 0.2500-inch shank diameter is accepted. The primary workpiece material designation is hardened materials, making it appropriate for tool steels, hardened alloy steels, and similar difficult-to-machine metals common in maintenance, repair, and production environments. The 2-7/8-inch overall length and 1-9/32-inch flute length support standard jobber-depth holes without excessive deflection.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement drill bit for applications requiring a wire size 5 (0.2055 inch) diameter straight-shank solid carbide bit in hardened material drilling operations conforming to DIN specification standards.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the straight shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before operation. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed control, or dropping the bit. Power down and de-energize the machine completely before changing tooling.
