The ACCUPRO 40280562 is a 45-degree lead angle indexable chamfer face mill designed for precision face milling and chamfering operations on metal workpieces. It accepts four HNKU 4.542AZER or HOKU 4.542AZER inserts held by screw clamps and delivers a negative radial, positive axial rake geometry that balances cutting forces and extends insert life. The cutter spans a minimum cutting diameter of 2.0 inches and a maximum cutting diameter of 2.3544 inches, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.130 inches. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management during heavy cuts. The tool body is machined from steel and mounts via a 0.75-inch arbor hole with a 0.3209-inch keyway for positive drive engagement.
This face mill is suited for production machining environments where a single tool must perform both face milling and edge chamfering in one pass. The ADSM cutter style and CI series designation place it in a family of arbor-mount face mills commonly used on horizontal and vertical machining centers, as well as manual knee mills equipped with appropriate arbors. Right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with standard spindle rotation on conventional CNC machining centers. Machinists and CNC operators working with steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials will find the four-insert layout appropriate for moderate-to-high feed rates within the 0.130-inch depth-of-cut envelope.
Compatible inserts are HNKU 4.542AZER and HOKU 4.542AZER, insert size code 08. The tool mounts on 0.75-inch (3/4-inch) arbors and is designed for use with standard arbor-mount face mill setups on machining centers or milling machines with right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation and insert changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per applicable safety procedures. Torque insert screws using the appropriate Torx or hex key driver supplied by the insert manufacturer. Verify arbor and keyway engagement before starting the spindle, and confirm coolant-through lines are connected and unobstructed before initiating a cut. Follow the insert manufacturer guidelines for starting feeds and speeds when seating new inserts.
