The ACCUPRO 40280109 is an indexable square-shoulder face mill designed for precision metal-removal operations on machining centers and milling machines. Built with a steel toolholder body, this 5-inch diameter cutter runs at up to 6,650 RPM and accommodates 9 indexable inserts secured by screw-clamp holding. The positive rake geometry and 0/90-degree lead angle promote clean shoulder formation and efficient chip evacuation. At 6.95 pounds, this is a robust, production-grade tool suited for shops running high-volume facing, shouldering, or interpolation work. It is installed by machinists and CNC setup technicians in job shop and production environments.
This face mill is built for a wide range of milling applications including facing, helical interpolation, shouldering, slotting, ramping, and plunging. The coolant-through design supports extended insert life during aggressive cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.47 inches and a 1.5-inch arbor hole, it mounts directly to standard arbors or toolholding systems common in horizontal and vertical machining centers. The CI series cutter accepts LOKU 552 and LNKU 554 compatible inserts in size code 12.
Compatible with LOKU 552 and LNKU 554 indexable inserts, insert size code 12. Mounts on arbors with a 1.5-inch bore diameter. Designed for use in horizontal and vertical machining centers with adequate spindle power for a 5-inch diameter face mill.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or indexing inserts. Verify arbor fit and runout before initiating a cut, and confirm spindle RPM does not exceed the 6,650 RPM maximum rated for this tool. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting depth of cut and feed rates.
