The ACCUPRO 39802434 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hardened materials. Built with a 1/4 inch cutting diameter and a 2-1/2 inch overall length, this single-end tool features four flutes and an AlTiCrN coating that provides excellent heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The 0.2130 inch length of cut and 0.0780 inch neck length make it well suited for detailed profiling, contouring, and finishing passes in tight-clearance areas. Solid carbide construction delivers rigidity and wear resistance that high-speed steel tools cannot match in demanding applications.
This ball end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines for 3D contouring, die and mold work, and complex profiling cuts. The variable index geometry helps reduce harmonic chatter during cutting, which is especially valuable when machining hardened steels, stainless alloys, and similar difficult materials. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders found on most benchtop and full-size vertical machining centers. It is a single-end tool, so the full cutting geometry is concentrated at one end for maximum rigidity.
Designed as a standard 1/4 inch shank ball end mill compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting 1/4 inch straight shanks on CNC machining centers and conventional vertical mills.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine in a full stop and the spindle locked. Ensure the collet or holder is clean and free of chips before seating the shank to the recommended engagement depth. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and degrade surface finish. Tool selection, speeds, and feeds should be confirmed against the workpiece material and machine capability before beginning a cut.
