The ACCUPRO 39538 is a two-flute square end mill designed for general-purpose milling in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from powdered metal, the tool delivers consistent hardness and wear resistance across the cutting edge. With a 0.1875 inch (3/16 inch) mill diameter and a 7/16 inch length of cut, this end mill suits slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. The spiral flute geometry at a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation. Centercutting capability allows direct plunging into the workpiece. This tool ships uncoated and is intended for machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in job shop or production environments.
The 39538 is suited for light to medium-duty milling operations on manual mills and CNC machining centers. The 3/8 inch shank diameter accommodates standard end mill holders and collet chucks commonly found in those setups. A 2-5/16 inch overall length provides reach for typical cavity and contour work without excessive overhang. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional spindle rotation. The uncoated surface makes this a practical option when cutting fluids or other cooling methods are already in use, or when regrinding after use is part of the maintenance workflow.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard replacement end mill for manual mills and CNC machining centers accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter in standard end mill holders or collet chucks.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended insertion depth and torque the retention fastener per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and verify spindle speed and feed rate against published cutting data for the workpiece material.
