The ACCUPRO 39508 is a single-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in a wide range of metalworking and machining applications. Built from powdered metal (PM) for improved wear resistance over standard high-speed steel, this end mill features a 5/32-inch cutting diameter, a 3/8-inch length of cut, and a 3-flute spiral configuration with a 45-degree helix angle. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. The centercutting design allows plunge cutting directly into the workpiece, giving machinists greater operational flexibility without a pre-drilled entry point.
This end mill is suited for use in manual knee mills, CNC machining centers, and benchtop mills running ferrous and non-ferrous materials at moderate cutting speeds. The uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for applications where coolant is used and regrinding is expected. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets and end mill holders commonly found in production and job-shop environments. The 2-3/8-inch overall length keeps the tool compact and reduces deflection during light-to-moderate depth cuts.
Designed as a standard single-end square end mill with a 3/8-inch shank, compatible with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and side-lock holders sized for 3/8-inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following the machine tool manufacturer's setup procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Verify collet or holder runout before cutting to stay within the mill diameter tolerance of plus 0.003 / minus 0.000 inches. Shank diameter tolerance is minus 0.0001 / minus 0.0005 inches, so confirm holder bore condition before use to avoid slippage or chatter.
