The ACCUPRO 39471 is a 4-flute square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from powdered metal (PM) with a TiAlN finish, it delivers improved heat resistance and extended tool life compared to standard high-speed steel. The cutting diameter is 0.375 inches, the length of cut is 0.750 inches, and the overall length is 2.5 inches. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining surface finish quality. Centercutting geometry allows both peripheral and plunge milling. This end mill is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
The 39471 is suited for use on vertical and horizontal milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills. It is appropriate for slotting, profiling, and plunge-cutting applications in steels, alloy steels, and similar materials where TiAlN coating provides a thermal barrier. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional milling setups. Shank diameter matches the cutting diameter at 0.375 inches, making it compatible with standard collet and end mill holder systems of that bore size.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 3/8 inch shank square end mill holders, collet chucks, and ER collet systems rated for 0.375-inch shank diameters on CNC and manual milling equipment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered off and the spindle locked. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention system to the equipment manufacturer specification before running. Verify runout with a dial indicator before engaging the cut, and confirm correct spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cut orientation of this tool.
