The ACCUPRO 316039 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.375-inch mill diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 5-flute geometry with a 37-degree helix angle, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish on each pass. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction, extending tool life in demanding cutting applications. The micrograin carbide substrate provides rigidity and resistance to edge wear, making it a reliable choice for production environments where dimensional accuracy is critical. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling, profiling, slotting, and finishing operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The centercutting design allows for plunge cutting as well as conventional peripheral milling. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for most vertical and horizontal milling setups. The spiral flute configuration promotes consistent chip flow, reducing the risk of recutting. It is appropriate for use on steel, stainless, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials in job shop and production machining environments.
Designed as a standard shank end mill for use in collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems accepting a 0.375-inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills configured for right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder and torque the retention hardware according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
