The ACCUPRO 315938 is a single-end ball end mill designed for machining contoured surfaces, cavities, and complex 3D profiles in a wide range of workpiece materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with a ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating, this tool delivers improved hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. The 3/4 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 1 inch length of cut and a 37-degree right-hand helix to promote aggressive chip evacuation while maintaining surface finish quality. Three spiral flutes provide a balance between cutting strength and chip clearance. With an extended reach configuration and a 2.5 inch reach length, this mill is well suited to deep-pocket and contour work where tool-to-workpiece clearance is limited.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where precision profile milling, pocket finishing, and die-and-mold operations are performed. The 3/4 inch shank diameter is compatible with standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems. It is appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous applications where a ZrN coating provides the necessary thermal barrier and release properties. The extended reach geometry makes it a practical choice for aerospace, mold making, and general precision machining operations requiring access to deep features.
Designed as an OEM-style cutting tool for use in standard 3/4 inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and shrink-fit tooling systems on CNC machining centers accepting 3/4 inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and at rest before loading or unloading the tool. Verify the holder bore and collet are clean and free of chips before seating the shank; contaminants will affect runout and tool life. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's torque specifications when tightening set screws or collet nuts, and confirm runout at the cutting end before beginning a production cut.
