The ACCUPRO 315574 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring extended reach and a controlled corner profile. Built from micrograin solid carbide with a ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating, this tool delivers hardness and thermal resistance suited for ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 1/2-inch diameter cutter features a 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 37-degree helix angle for efficient chip evacuation. The corner radius measures 0.1200 inches, providing a consistent blend between the side wall and floor of a milled pocket or slot. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry. This tool is used by machinists and toolroom professionals in CNC milling applications.
This end mill is built for applications where reach into deep pockets or recessed features is required. The extended reach design provides a 3.375-inch reach length from the end of the shank to the start of the cutting zone, while keeping the neck diameter at 0.4750 inches to maintain clearance in confined geometries. The 5/8-inch length of cut and 6-inch overall length make it suited for aerospace, mold and die, automotive, and general machining work where standard-length tools cannot access the feature. Single-end construction keeps the tool focused for dedicated finishing and semi-finishing passes.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill compatible with standard 1/2-inch collet holders, ER collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders used in CNC machining centers accepting 1/2-inch shank tooling.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended grip length before torquing the collet nut or set screw to the toolholder specification. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator after installation, as extended-reach tools are particularly sensitive to TIR; excessive runout will accelerate wear and degrade corner radius accuracy.
