The ACCUPRO 315520 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 1/2 inch diameter cutter features a 0.1200 inch corner radius, three flutes, and a ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating that extends tool life and reduces built-up edge in demanding applications. With a 37-degree helix angle, right-hand flute direction, and centercutting capability, this end mill handles slotting, profiling, and plunge operations. The extended reach configuration and 1-3/8 inch reach length make it suited for deep-pocket and stepped-wall work where clearance is critical. Machinist and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms are the primary users.
This end mill is used in vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers for finishing and semi-finishing passes that require a controlled corner break or blend radius. The 5/8 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length support applications where reach into cavities is needed without sacrificing rigidity. The 1/2 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic toolholders commonly found in production environments. The single-end, right-hand cutting geometry follows conventional milling practice for most setups.
Designed as a standard 1/2 inch shank corner radius end mill compatible with ER collet chucks, shell mill adapters, and straight-bore end mill holders with a 1/2 inch bore.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an e-stop or tool-change state. Verify the shank is seated fully in the holder and that runout is within acceptable limits before cutting, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Use appropriate cutting parameters for the workpiece material and apply cutting fluid or air blast to manage chip evacuation and heat. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges before each use — carbide end mills should be removed from service at the first sign of chipping or edge degradation.
