The ACCUPRO 315505 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations where edge integrity and extended tool life are critical. The 1/2 inch diameter cutter features a 0.015 inch corner radius, a 3-flute right-hand spiral geometry with a 37-degree helix angle, and a ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating that reduces friction and extends wear life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 5/8 inch length of cut (0.625 inches) and extended reach design with a 1-3/8 inch reach length and 0.475 inch neck diameter make this tool well suited for accessing deep pockets and recessed features while maintaining rigidity. Total overall length is 3 inches. Machinists and CNC operators running production or precision work will find this a capable single-end tool.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual milling operations across aerospace, mold and die, general metalworking, and precision job shop environments. The extended reach and reduced neck diameter allow clearance in deep-cavity milling applications where a standard-length tool would make contact with part walls. The centercutting geometry permits plunge entry, adding versatility for interpolation and ramping operations. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction follow standard CNC spindle configurations.
Designed for use in standard 1/2 inch diameter CNC tool holders, collets, and end mill holders. The 1/2 inch shank with a shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches is compatible with ER, TG, and side-lock style tooling systems accepting 1/2 inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out. Verify tool holder runout with an indicator before running production cuts, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a 3-flute geometry. Confirm that tool overhang does not exceed application requirements, and that spindle speeds and feed rates are set per the material being cut before engaging the workpiece. Never exceed the tool manufacturer rated parameters for depth of cut or chip load.
