The ACCUPRO 315502 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide stock, it delivers consistent cutting performance and edge retention across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 0.5 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 0.625 inch length of cut and a 37-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. A zirconium nitride (ZrN) finish improves surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in high-cycle production environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators select this tool for finishing and semi-finishing passes where dimensional accuracy and surface finish matter.
This end mill fits standard 0.5 inch collets and tool holders used on vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills. The 3 inch overall length and 1.375 inch extended reach make it suitable for pocketing, slotting, and peripheral milling where moderate reach beyond the holder nose is needed. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry without a pilot hole. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is compatible with conventional CNC spindle setups. Typical applications include die and mold work, fixture machining, and general-purpose part production in job shops and production environments.
Designed for use in any standard 0.5 inch collet or end mill holder on vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual milling machines with right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the recommended insertion depth for your holder type and torque the collet nut per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning any cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
