The ACCUPRO 315394 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.030 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the base of pocketed features. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating provides a hard, low-friction surface that extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. With a 37-degree variable-geometry helix and three right-hand spiral flutes, it evacuates chips efficiently and delivers a clean finish on floor and wall surfaces. This is a centercutting tool, making it capable of plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is suited for die and mold work, deep-pocket milling, and profile operations where extended reach is required. The extended reach design — with a 1-1/8 inch reach length and a reduced neck diameter of 0.2375 inches — allows access to recessed floors and stepped features that standard-length tools cannot reach. It is used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills by machinists working in tool rooms, job shops, and production environments. Single-end configuration means it is replaced rather than reindexed when worn.
Designed for use in standard 1/4 inch collets and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Intended for right-hand spindle rotation. Compatible with tool holders accepting a 1/4 inch straight shank.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician using an appropriate collet or end mill holder rated for 1/4 inch shanks. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Confirm runout at the shank before engaging the cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear and can fracture the carbide. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the material and coating — consult the cutting data for ZrN-coated solid carbide tools at the applicable spindle speed and feed rate.
