The ACCUPRO 314981 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/4-inch cutting diameter with a 0.120-inch corner radius, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length. The 37-degree variable-spiral helix geometry and three right-hand flutes promote chip evacuation and reduce chatter during aggressive cuts. A ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating increases surface hardness and thermal resistance, extending tool life in demanding applications. The micrograin carbide substrate provides rigidity and edge retention. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral and slot milling.
This tool is suited for milling operations on machining centers and CNC mills handling steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. The corner radius end geometry distributes cutting forces away from the sharp corner, reducing edge chipping on finishing passes and semi-finishing passes in die-and-mold work, aerospace components, and general precision machining. The 3/4-inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter for direct chuck or collet mounting without a step-down.
Designed as a direct-mount end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/4-inch collet, end mill holder, or milling chuck.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder to the full recommended engagement depth to minimize runout. Verify shank diameter tolerance fit before tightening the holder, as improper fit will affect surface finish and tool life. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and tooling manufacturer recommendations for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut before beginning any cut.
