The ACCUPRO 314972 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The micrograin carbide substrate delivers hardness and wear resistance, while the ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating reduces friction and extends tool life. With a 37-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry, this end mill promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for general-purpose material removal and finishing passes. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard setup for the majority of vertical and horizontal milling setups. The 3/4 inch shank diameter fits standard R8, CAT, BT, and ER collet toolholders common in production and job-shop environments. It is typically installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in metalworking, tool-and-die, mold-making, and general fabrication shops.
Designed as a standard square end mill with a 3/4 inch shank diameter, compatible with toolholders and collet systems sized for 3/4 inch straight shanks, including ER, R8, CAT, and BT-style holders commonly used in CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for toolholder torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing or seating the end mill. Confirm proper shank engagement depth in the toolholder to avoid pullout under cutting loads. Do not exceed the rated length of cut when programming axial depth of cut.
