The ACCUPRO 314928 is a single-end corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with zirconium nitride (ZrN), it delivers extended tool life and improved wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide tooling. The 5/8 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 1-5/8 inch length of cut and a 3-1/2 inch overall length, making it suitable for moderate-depth slotting, profiling, and pocket milling. The 0.060 inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and minimizes chipping on workpiece corners. This end mill is sized and configured for use by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
The 314928 is applied in milling operations where a controlled corner radius is required to blend floor-to-wall transitions in pockets, slots, and contoured features. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting rotation are standard for conventional CNC machining centers. With three flutes and a 37-degree fixed helix, the tool balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials suited to ZrN coatings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit end mill for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills accepting a 5/8 inch shank diameter with standard ER, Weldon, or shrink-fit toolholders.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or unloading the tool from the holder. Verify runout and holder concentricity before cutting to protect the corner radius geometry. Follow machine manufacturer feed, speed, and depth-of-cut guidelines for solid carbide end mills of this diameter and coating type.
