The ACCUPRO 314920 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It measures 0.625 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut and a 3.5-inch overall length. The 37-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating adds surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in demanding cuts. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the rigidity and edge retention required for high-feed milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This tool is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in a range of materials including aluminum, steel, and stainless. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without pre-drilling, adding flexibility in multi-operation setups. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation. With a 5/8-inch shank diameter, it fits standard R8, ER, or side-lock tool holders commonly found in vertical machining centers and knee mills used in job shops and production environments.
Designed for use in standard 5/8-inch tool holders including ER collet chucks, R8 collets, and side-lock holders on vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a locked-out state before changing tooling. Confirm the shank is seated fully and evenly in the tool holder, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for feed rate and speed selection based on material and depth of cut.
