The ACCUPRO 314912 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide, it offers a 5/8 inch cutting diameter with a 1-1/4 inch length of cut and a 3-1/2 inch overall length. The three-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 37-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. The bright/uncoated finish makes this end mill well suited for non-ferrous metals, aluminum, and general-purpose milling where coating is not required. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into workpiece material.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual vertical mills in production shops, tool rooms, and job shops. It fits applications requiring a regular-length reach with a 5/8 inch shank diameter compatible with standard ER collets and end mill holders. The right-hand cutting direction suits conventional and climb milling strategies. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher cutting speeds compared to standard carbide grades, making it a practical choice for shops running aluminum, brass, copper, plastics, and softer steels.
Designed as a standard 5/8 inch shank square end mill compatible with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style holders accepting 5/8 inch shank tooling on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable machine safety procedures. Ensure the collet or tool holder is clean and free of chips before seating the shank to the recommended engagement depth. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use and replace the tool if damage is observed.
