The ACCUPRO 314908 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance required for demanding cutting operations. The 5/8 inch diameter cutter features 3 right-hand spiral flutes with a 37-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A zirconium nitride (ZrN) coating reduces friction and extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This end mill is centercutting and configured as a single-end tool, making it suitable for slotting, profiling, and plunge operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is used in general-purpose and production machining environments. The 3/4 inch length of cut (LOC) and 3-1/2 inch overall length (OAL) suit a range of cavity milling, side milling, and peripheral finishing operations. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard spindle rotation on most vertical and horizontal machining centers. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, and production facilities will find this tool applicable to steel, aluminum, and similar machinable alloys where ZrN-coated carbide tooling is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 5/8 inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders used on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer's specification before operation. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before tool changes. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, as carbide tooling can fail without visible warning if run beyond serviceable condition.
