The ACCUPRO 314845 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining applications. It features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 3-flute configuration with a 37-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The tool is finished with a ZrN (Zirconium Nitride) coating, which improves surface hardness and extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the rigidity and edge retention needed for demanding cuts. This end mill is a single-end tool with right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose and finish milling in job shop, production machining, and tool-and-die environments. The 3-flute geometry makes it effective for slotting, peripheral milling, and pocketing in a range of materials including aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. With a 1/2 inch shank diameter matching the cutter diameter, it seats directly in standard ER collets, end mill holders, and milling chucks. The 3 inch overall length allows adequate reach for most vertical and horizontal milling setups without sacrificing rigidity. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry when required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 1/2 inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and milling chucks on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with toolholder torque requirements and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Confirm proper shank engagement depth per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines before beginning a cut. Always verify spindle direction and feed parameters against the material being machined before running the tool at full depth of cut.
