The ACCUPRO 314827 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/2-inch cutting diameter, a 5/8-inch length of cut (0.6250 inches), and a 3-inch overall length. The 0.060-inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the tool-workpiece junction, extending both tool life and part finish quality. A ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating improves wear resistance and lubricity at the cutting edge. With a 37-degree helix and three right-hand spiral flutes, the 314827 is center-cutting and capable of plunge entry. It is a single-end tool with a 1/2-inch shank diameter. Intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments.
This end mill suits applications requiring a radius transition between a floor and a wall in a milled pocket or slot. The ZrN coating makes it well suited for cutting aluminum, stainless steel, alloy steels, and similar materials where heat buildup and edge buildup are primary concerns. It is appropriate for use in vertical machining centers, horizontal mills, and manual knee mills where a 1/2-inch shank toolholder is available. The regular-length geometry keeps it rigid in shallow-to-medium-depth milling passes, reducing chatter and deflection during finish cuts.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard selection for any toolholder accepting a 1/2-inch shank end mill, including collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders conforming to 1/2-inch bore specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Confirm the shank is fully seated to the minimum clamping depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer before tightening. Do not exceed the tool runout tolerances specified for the shank diameter: +0.0001 inch / -0.0004 inch. Verify feed rate, spindle speed, and depth of cut parameters against the material being machined before starting the cut.
