The ACCUPRO 314749 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 3/8-inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/4-inch length of cut, and a 3-inch overall length, this is a long-length configuration that extends reach in deeper cavities and stepped features. The three-flute geometry paired with a 37-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining surface finish quality. Constructed from micrograin solid carbide, the tool delivers hardness and edge retention suited to demanding cutting conditions. The bright/uncoated finish is appropriate for use in a range of materials where coating chemistry is not required.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and toolroom environments for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. The long-length configuration makes it well suited for reaching into deep pockets, tall workpiece features, or setups where a standard-length tool cannot reach. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling on most vertical and horizontal spindles. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals will find this tool applicable across general-purpose material removal tasks.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling selection for 3/8-inch collet, end mill holder, or hydraulic chuck setups on CNC and manual milling machines requiring a long-length, three-flute square end mill.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the 3/8-inch shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge line and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cutting operations, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
