The ACCUPRO 314692 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 5/16-inch cutting diameter and a 2-1/8-inch length of cut, it handles deep-reach slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. The three-flute geometry with a 37-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating provides surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances on diameter: plus 0.000 to minus 0.005 inches on the mill diameter and plus 0.0001 to minus 0.0004 inches on the shank. This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on machining centers and manual mills where a long-reach, single-end tool is required. The 5/16-inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, making it compatible with standard ER collet systems and end mill holders of the same size. The 4-inch overall length provides clearance for deep-pocket work. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. The centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without pre-drilling, adding flexibility to toolpath programming.
Designed as a standard shank end mill for use with 5/16-inch ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and compatible milling machine spindles in CNC and manual machining setups.
Installation is performed by machinists using a calibrated torque wrench and appropriate collet nut spanner to seat the shank securely in the holder. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting to confirm concentricity within acceptable limits for the intended operation. Do not exceed the tool's rated depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material.
