The ACCUPRO 314674 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 5/16 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/8 inch length of cut, and a 37-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating adds surface hardness and thermal resistance, extending tool life in demanding cutting environments. Micrograin carbide construction provides a consistent edge across the three flutes. This tool is well suited for professional machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms.
This end mill is built for right-hand cutting and right-hand spiral flute direction with centercutting capability, allowing plunge entry into workpieces. It carries a 5/16 inch shank diameter and a 2-1/2 inch overall length, making it compatible with standard collet and end mill holder setups on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The single-end design is typical for general-purpose finishing and profiling passes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. No chipbreaker or variable helix geometry is present, keeping this a straightforward tool for standard milling tasks.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tooling for standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders accepting a 5/16 inch shank diameter on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard tooling change procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, de-energized state before inserting or removing the end mill. Verify collet and holder cleanliness and proper torque per the holder manufacturer specifications before engaging the cut. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine tool operating procedures when setting tool length offsets and running initial test passes.
