The ACCUPRO 314605 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in metal, composites, and engineered materials. It features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter with a 1-1/8 inch length of cut and a 2-1/2 inch overall length. The three-flute geometry paired with a 37-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and a good balance between rigidity and cutting performance. Micrograin carbide construction provides wear resistance and edge retention under demanding cutting conditions. The bright, uncoated finish suits a wide range of general-purpose applications where coating is not required. This end mill is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in job shop or production environments.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in materials where a three-flute, right-hand cutting, right-hand spiral tool is appropriate. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks, ER collets, and end mill holders commonly used on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The center-cutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole, making it versatile for both roughing and finishing passes in lighter cuts. It is a single-end tool intended for use in standard vertical and horizontal milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for standard 1/4 inch shank square end mills used in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and similar equipment accepting 1/4 inch straight-shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank fully within the collet or holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer, ensuring adequate grip without exceeding the flute length. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against the material being cut before operation. Inspect the cutting edges for damage or wear before each use and replace the tool if chipping or dulling is observed.
