The ACCUPRO 314581 is a 3-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 1/4 inch cutting diameter and a 3/4 inch length of cut, it delivers clean, accurate square profiles in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The micrograin carbide substrate provides rigidity and wear resistance, while the ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating reduces friction and extends tool life at elevated cutting speeds. A 37-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This tool is intended for use by machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators working in job shop and production environments.
This end mill suits general-purpose and precision milling operations including slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. The 1/4 inch shank diameter is compatible with standard collet systems and end mill holders used on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Its single-end, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute configuration covers the majority of conventional milling setups. It is well suited for light to moderate material removal in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and similar alloys where a ZrN coating provides performance advantages over uncoated tooling.
Designed as a standard 1/4 inch shank square end mill compatible with collet systems and end mill holders accepting 1/4 inch straight shanks on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Ensure the collet or holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank to achieve proper runout tolerances. Do not exceed the holder's rated pull-out force rating when tightening. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable OSHA machining safety standards when setting speeds and feeds.
