The ACCUPRO 314570 is a 3-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and engineered material applications. The cutter features a 1/4 inch diameter with a 1/2 inch length of cut and a 37-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. A ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating improves surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in abrasive and dry-cutting conditions. The micrograin carbide substrate provides consistent edge integrity across the full cutting length. This tool is typically installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard spindle rotation on vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC routers. The single-end configuration and 2.5 inch overall length provide adequate reach for most standard-depth milling applications without requiring extended-reach tooling. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed as a standard 1/4 inch shank end mill compatible with collet chucks, ER collet systems, and end mill holders accepting 1/4 inch shank tooling on vertical machining centers, CNC routers, and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following safe tool-change procedures with the spindle fully stopped and machine in an e-stop or locked-out state. Ensure the shank is seated to the minimum recommended insertion depth in the collet or holder and that all locking components are properly torqued per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before each use. Do not exceed the recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
