The ACCUPRO 314523 is a single-end corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with zirconium nitride (ZrN), it delivers hardness and lubricity suited to ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool measures 3/16 inches in diameter with a 5/8-inch length of cut and a 0.0200-inch corner radius, which reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding cuts. A 37-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge milling operations in addition to peripheral and slot milling.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are required. The 3/16-inch diameter and regular-length configuration make it well suited for slotting, profiling, and pocketing in small-feature work. The ZrN coating performs well in aluminum, brass, copper, and certain steels. It is typically installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance machine shops.
Designed as a standard shank end mill compatible with 3/16-inch collets, end mill holders, and milling chucks used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per applicable safety procedures. Secure the 3/16-inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, ensuring adequate shank engagement depth as specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Inspect the collet and holder for wear or contamination before seating the tool. Verify spindle speed and feed rate settings against the manufacturer's recommended cutting data for the workpiece material before starting the cut.
