The ACCUPRO 314458 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of metals, composites, and engineered materials. It features a 1/8 inch cutting diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 1-1/2 inch overall length. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating improves surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in demanding cut conditions. With a 0.030 inch corner radius, this end mill blends floor-to-wall transitions cleanly while reducing stress concentrations at the cutting edge. The 37-degree helix angle and three-flute spiral geometry support efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute, single-end tool with centercutting capability.
The 314458 is suited for use on CNC machining centers, manual mills, and high-speed spindle setups where a small-diameter, high-precision end mill is required. It performs well in slotting, profiling, and finish passes on aluminum, steel, stainless, and similar materials. The 1/8 inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, making it compatible with standard collet chuck systems in that bore size. Machinists working on die and mold work, prototype machining, and fine-detail component work will find this geometry well suited to close-tolerance applications.
Designed for use in standard 1/8 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC and manual milling machines. Suitable for OEM-style replacement or first-fit use wherever a 1/8 inch diameter, single-end, corner radius carbide end mill is specified.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians using a collet chuck or end mill holder rated for 1/8 inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Follow the machine tool manufacturer's torque specifications for the collet nut or set screw. Verify runout after installation to protect the small-diameter shank from deflection or premature breakage.
