The ACCUPRO 314039 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide stock and finished with a ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating, this tool delivers extended wear life and improved chip evacuation compared to uncoated alternatives. It features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree spiral helix angle that promotes efficient chip flow and reduces cutting forces. Centercutting geometry allows the tool to plunge directly into workpiece material. The 5/8 inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter for straightforward toolholder setup in standard collet chucks or end mill holders.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose and finish milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, alloys, and hard plastics. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. With a 6 inch overall length, it provides additional reach for deeper setups, stepped workpieces, or fixtures where standard-length tools cannot access the cut zone. Machinists, tool and die makers, and job shop operators working in production or prototype environments are the primary users of this tool.
Designed for use in standard 5/8 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, or hydraulic toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting 5/8 inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank to the recommended insertion depth in the toolholder — avoid gripping on the fluted section. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting to prevent premature tool wear or workpiece damage.
