The ACCUPRO 314030 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers the hardness and edge retention needed for demanding cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while reducing cutting forces and heat buildup at the tool tip. A ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. With a 5/8 inch cutting diameter and 3/4 inch length of cut, this end mill suits slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling tasks where tight tolerances are required.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills where a right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration is standard. The centercutting geometry allows for direct plunge entry, giving machinists flexibility in tool paths without a pilot hole. With a 5/8 inch shank diameter and 5 inch overall length, it fits standard ER and straight-shank toolholders common in job shop and production environments. The 2-flute configuration is well-suited for slotting and pocketing where chip clearance is a priority.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for standard 5/8 inch straight-shank and ER-style toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe locked-out state before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the specified clamping torque for the toolholder type in use, and verify runout with a dial indicator before engaging the workpiece. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting speeds and feeds.
