The ACCUPRO 313397 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with zirconium nitride (ZrN), it delivers extended tool life and wear resistance across a range of materials. The 5/8-inch diameter, 2-flute design with a 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 5 inches overall length with a 2-1/2-inch length of cut, this long-reach end mill suits deeper pocket and slot milling where standard-length tools fall short. It is a single-end, centercutting tool, making it capable of plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot cuts. Machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop settings are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills performing slot milling, profiling, and deep pocket operations. The long length type makes it appropriate for workpieces requiring extended reach into cavities or along tall vertical walls. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation. ZrN coating provides a hard, low-friction surface that benefits cutting in aluminum, brass, copper, and certain ferrous materials. It is sold as a single unit and is a direct drop-in for standard 5/8-inch collet or end mill holder setups.
Designed for use in standard 5/8-inch collet chucks, end mill holders, or hydraulic tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills configured for right-hand rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before installing or removing the end mill. Secure the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the tool holder to minimize runout and deflection, particularly important given the long reach of this tool. Verify tool length offset and diameter compensation in the CNC controller before initiating the first cut.
