The ACCUPRO 313337 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal-cutting and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with zirconium nitride (ZrN), this tool delivers improved wear resistance and surface finish quality compared to uncoated tooling. It features a 0.5-inch mill diameter, a 2-inch length of cut, and a 45-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. The single-end, two-flute geometry suits slotting, profiling, and contouring tasks where chip clearance is a priority. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills where a long-reach tool is required. The 4-inch overall length and 0.5-inch shank diameter make it a practical choice for reaching into deeper cavities or stepped features without sacrificing rigidity. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction follow standard conventions for most CNC and manual milling setups. ZrN coating performs well on non-ferrous metals, aluminum alloys, brass, and some plastics, where built-up edge on uncoated tools is a common concern.
Designed as a standard shank end mill compatible with 1/2-inch collets, end mill holders, and hydraulic chucks used on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. No specific machine model compatibility was provided in product data.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the holder to the recommended engagement depth per the toolholder manufacturer's specification, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool's rated depth of cut for the material being machined.
