The ACCUPRO 313212 is a 2-flute solid carbide square end mill built for precision milling operations in metal fabrication, toolrooms, and production machining environments. The cutter features a 3/8-inch mill diameter with a 1-1/2-inch length of cut and a 4-inch overall length, placing it in the long-series category for extended-reach applications. A 45-degree helix angle promotes aggressive chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating improves surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This end mill is single-end, right-hand cutting, and manufactured from micrograin carbide for consistent edge integrity across the full depth of cut.
This tool is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations on machining centers and CNC mills where extended reach is required. The long-series geometry makes it appropriate for deep-pocket work and tall-workpiece setups where a standard-length end mill would not reach. It is typically installed and run by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance machine shops. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit cutting tool for CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills accepting a 3/8-inch straight shank via ER collet, end mill holder, or equivalent toolholding system.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Secure the 3/8-inch shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and tighten to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before mounting. Follow your facility's speeds-and-feeds guidelines for carbide end mills in the material being cut; do not exceed the rated depth of cut for long-series tooling, as extended overhang increases deflection risk.
