The ACCUPRO 313198 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring a controlled corner profile. It carries a 3/8-inch diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 2-1/2-inch overall length. The cutting end features a 0.045-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the base of a milled feature. A ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating provides wear resistance and helps extend tool life across a range of workpiece materials. The 45-degree helix angle and right-hand flute direction promote efficient chip evacuation. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills in job shop, toolroom, and production environments. It handles slotting, profiling, and finish passes where a radiused corner is required to meet part print specifications or to avoid sharp internal corners that could serve as stress risers. The single-end, regular-length configuration fits standard tool holders accepting a 3/8-inch shank. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in steel, aluminum, and similar materials will find the micrograin carbide substrate appropriate for general-purpose applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide corner radius end mill for standard 3/8-inch tool holders and collets in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's setup procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder to the full recommended engagement depth to prevent tool pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and degrade corner radius accuracy.
