The ACCUPRO 312809 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding milling applications where edge strength and tool life are critical. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 3.25 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length. The 7-flute geometry with a 38-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and smooth cutting at higher feed rates. The AlCrTiN coating provides excellent heat resistance and wear resistance, making this tool well suited for hardened steels, stainless alloys, and other difficult-to-machine materials. A 0.030 inch corner radius protects the cutting edge and reduces chipping at entry and exit. This tool is installed and used by machinists and tooling professionals in CNC milling environments.
The 312809 is suited for profile milling, slotting, and contouring operations in production and job-shop settings. Its noncentercutting design means it is intended for side milling and ramping operations rather than direct plunge cuts. The straight cylindrical shank with a 1 inch shank diameter seats directly into standard collet chucks, end mill holders, or hydraulic toolholders. Typical applications include finishing passes on mold and die components, aerospace structural parts, and precision machined assemblies where corner geometry must be tightly controlled.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard 1 inch bore end mill holders, collet chucks, or hydraulic toolholders. Verify spindle taper, toolholder bore, and machine horsepower requirements before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as solid carbide tooling is brittle and sensitive to interrupted cuts or improper runout.
