The ACCUPRO 312203 is a solid carbide, five-flute corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. It carries a 1/2 inch cutting diameter with a 0.030 inch corner radius and a 5/8 inch length of cut. The AlCrTiN coating provides high heat resistance and extended tool life in difficult-to-machine materials. With a 4 inch overall length and a 2.25 inch reach length, this end mill suits deep-cavity and extended-reach operations where shorter tools cannot access the workpiece. It is center cutting, allowing plunge entry, and features a 38-degree helix with variable index geometry to reduce chatter and improve surface finish. Installed by CNC machinists and toolroom professionals in vertical and horizontal machining centers.
This end mill is suited for milling operations requiring a blended radius at the bottom of the cut, such as pocket floors, filleted walls, and contoured surfaces. The extended reach and reduced neck diameter of 0.475 inch make it well-suited for deep pocket work where clearance is limited. The micrograin solid carbide substrate supports use in ferrous and non-ferrous alloys, hardened steels, stainless, and titanium alloys. Right-hand cutting direction with right-hand flute spiral is the standard configuration for conventional CNC milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use end mill compatible with standard 1/2 inch diameter tool holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit holders used on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the 1/2 inch shank in a clean, properly sized collet or tool holder and torque to the holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the collet bore and shank for chips or contamination before seating the tool. Confirm runout at the cutting diameter before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear and degrades corner radius accuracy.
