The ACCUPRO 312184 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 5/8 inch length of cut, a 4 inch overall length, and an AlCrTiN coating that improves heat resistance and tool life in abrasive or hard materials. The 5-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 38-degree helix and variable index promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces chatter. Center cutting capability allows plunge entry. The extended reach design, with a 1-1/2 inch reach length and a 0.475 inch neck diameter, makes it suited for deep-pocket and cavity work. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments install this type of tooling.
This end mill is appropriate for profiling, slotting, and contouring operations where a controlled corner radius is required to reduce stress concentrations and improve surface finish at part corners. The 0.020 inch corner radius end type makes it suitable for molds, dies, aerospace components, and general precision machining. It is a single-end tool with a 1/2 inch shank diameter, compatible with standard ER and side-lock toolholders. The micrograin solid carbide construction supports use in harder workpiece materials where high-speed steel tooling would wear prematurely.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 1/2 inch bore CNC milling toolholders including ER collet chucks and side-lock holders.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock is engaged before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully to the recommended gauge line depth in the toolholder and torque the collet nut or set screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius for chips or wear before each use, as carbide end mills are brittle and should not be used if edge damage is present.
